Description
This is a very handy little gadget when you are cutting bias strips for binding. These were made and sold by Singer Sewing Machine Company a number of years ago. You will find a few with the Singer part number 25525 on them but the majority have no name or part number. This does not have the Singer number on it but is a very nice vintage part in good condition with no rust. Some of these had the capital letters F, B and C on the top and others have a small measuring tape. You attach this a pair of scissors with thin blades -- it will not work on thick blades. The letters F, B and C should be on top or the small measuring tape should be showing. That is how you set the width of the bias strip you are about to cut. The gauge has to be fitted to the pointed of the scissors and the material fitted up to the blue spring when cutting. The letter F shows where to position the blue spring for Facings. B is 7/8" for Bindings. C is for Cording or Piping. If you have one that has the measuring tape, you can set it to whatever width you choose.
Very nice Singer accessory in good used condition.
