Since its debut in 1847, this classic candy has remained largely unchanged thanks to its enduring popularity. Spangler Candy, the current manufacturer, has maintained the original recipe of this iconic candy as much as possible. Seven of the eight flavors were formulated to be a perfect match to the originals. The chocolate flavor has a slightly richer cocoa flavor than before, thanks to a small improvement made in the cooking process.
