Leaf Confectionery
in 1940, and acquired from
Hershey Foods

Farley's & Sathers Candy Company, Inc.
They are bubble gum balls containing an internal fruit flavoring that is colored to match the coating on the outside.
RainBlo Bubble Gum, introduced by Leaf Confectionery in 1940, was the first gumball wih flavoring on the inside and color inside that matched the coating on the outside. Unique to the industry, RainBlo featured a hollow center. In the 1940’s, two large gumballs cost one penny.
While Leaf produced numerous novelty gum items over the years, RainBlo remained a strong brand after other items ceased to exist in the gum market. After over 50 years of transition, RainBlo remains the number one gumball in the world.
Farleys’s & Sathers Candy Company, Inc. acquired the RainBlo brands from Hershey Foods in 2003.
