Vintage 1946/base Wisconsin "America's Dairyland" w/'48 Tab Tag License Plate

Vintage 1946/base Wisconsin "America's Dairyland" w/'48 Tab Tag Original Steel License Plate, Good+Condition! This plate was made before the government standardized license plates in 1956. Before that time plates were made in any shape or size, like Tenn.'s was for (in the shape of the state) example. This plate is 13-1/2" long and 6-3/16" wide, standard is 6X12", and as you can see, it's edges are rounded which is not permitted by law anymore! It weighs twice the weight of today's plates, thus a higher shipping cost. The tab tag is removable, but doesn't look like it's been tampered (see the 3rd & 4th pics) with to me. The 11 to the left of the tab tag means it expires in the 11th month, the '48 means this was a 2 year tag that would've expired in Nov. '48 and would've needed a new tab tag to stay legal.
With all embossed numbers, letters and border, (see pics for condition), This plate lays flat! The top bolt holes show normal wear and the bottom ones look unused! It has 2 extra holes, but that's normal for this time period, and those holes look unused. The numbers and words have good paint for their age, these particular plates are hard to find in good shape. The year tab is good to go as well! This one is way more than 3 yrs old, and would be good for any collection! ..USA lower 48 States, Puerto Rico and US Military APO bidder/buyers only!
